Rim has announced a new smartphone, BlackBerry Torch 9800 that combines the QWERTY keypad & touchscreen features. Among BlackBerry’s phone it has the largest display.
Specifications
The handset features 3.2 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen of 360 x 480 pixels resolution. It measures 111 x 62 x 14.6mm dimension having 161 g weight. The BlackBerry Torch 9800 is the first phone that runs on BB 6 operating system.
It is powered by 624 MHz processor & supported by 512 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. It has 1300 mAh battery that delivers 5.5 hours of talk time and 18 days on standby. In terms of connectivity it supports all the standard connecting features including Wi-Fi & 3G. It has pre installed BlackBerry App World to discover and purchase its applications.
Advantages & Disadvantages
Talking about its advantages include sliding QWERTY keypad along with on-screen keyboard means it support touchscreen features also. The BlackBerry Torch 9800 is the first one to introduce BB 6 operating system with improved features. It supports great connectivity for data sharing or connecting to the internet.
Continuing with the disadvantages the handset is large & heavy. Touchscreen is not very responsive as per the expectation. Using BB6 is very complicated for the BlackBerry’s users.
