Nokia 6700 Slide: now available in red

Nokia 6700 Slide RedThe Nokia 6700 Slide has actually been available in the UK since March of this year, which is why it’s somewhat surprising to see a new colour version of the mobile phone being released 4 months later. However, out of the six colours officially offered by Nokia, the red version that went on sale last week is in fact only the fourth to be released. The pink, silver (officially called aluminium) and purple versions are the available ones whilst the blue and lime colours are mysteriously missing.

In any case, the Nokia 6700 Slide Red only has contract deals on Three at present and all on at least a 24 month contract. However, deals start at £16.63 per month for 300 minutes/texts (you get units that you can use for minutes or texts) and £18.60 per month for 900 minutes/texts.

We’re glad to see another colour available but the prices are for now significantly higher than the alternative Nokia 6700 Slide deals. For example, you can get the pink or silver 6700 Slide on T-Mobile with 600 minutes, 500 texts and 1GB data for just £6.67 a month. All three prices mentioned here apply after claiming cash back from the retailer. If you don’t want to claim any cash back, the cheapest tariff with the handset for free is just £10.

The 6700 Slide has a 5 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, auto focus, dual LED flash and 8x zoom. It’s running version 9.3 of the popular Symbian S60 OS. It has a microSD slot which is a must for its extensive media player due to the small 45MB of onboard memory. It also features HSDPA connectivity for data transfer of up to 7.2 Mbps.
