Sonim XP1: A Very Rugged Mobile Phone

Sonim XP1 Mobile phone is launced by Sonim. This phone is water proof, dust proof, shock proof and can withstand extremes of temperature. These all have been tested in different circumstances.  Rugged Sonim phones to be built for Land Rover were announced late last year, and one, the Land Rover S1, has been approved by FCC for its debut, by mid-2009.

According to Sonim, the “Land Rover phones will be submersible, Bluetooth-compliant and certified to withstand salt, fog, humidity, transport and thermal shock and a 1.6-metre drop to concrete from any angle”. The CX800 presumably can take being dropped and also works while submerged under water; it is certainly a viable option to the Sonim XP1 the “world’s toughest phone” and especially when it will probably cost less, and the fact that these phones can actually be charged via a portable AA battery charger, which we think is somewhat neat. Overall this phone is made for those atmosphere and environments where, keeping a normal phone is difficult.
