LG Optimus Pad Vs. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 : Clash Between Two Hottest Honeycomb Tablets

After the Apple iPad 2 releases, there are two new tablets coming on their way. These are LG Optimus Pad and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. There is a tough fight between the two. I’m here to compare between these two tablets on certain attributes. Year 2011 is certainly the tablet year to the mobile industry as more number of tablets are coming up. Sit down, relax and study the comparison between LG Optimus Pad and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.

Operating System/Processor:
Both these tablets runs on Google’s Android v3.0 Honeycomb operating system. But, the difference come in with their processor. As LG Optimus Pad is powered by 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 AP20H Dual Core processor, while Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 is powered by 1 GHz dual-core processor. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 features Quad cure GPU which give it a massive boost in comparison to the LG Optimus Pad’s dual core processor. Hence, it will be very useful in multi-tasking and speedy graphics. Thus, clear winner is Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

Size and Weight:
The LG Optimus Pad is weighing 621 grams and measures dimensions with 243.8 x 150 x 12.7 mm, while the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 weighing just 595 grams and measures dimensions with 256.6 x 172.9 x 8.6 mm. Thus, as per these comparisons, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 beats LG Optimus Pad.

Display:
The LG Optimus Pad has 8.9 inches 3D LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels. While, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 looks wider with 10.1 inches TFT capacitive touchscreen having resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels. The Optimus Pad has got perfect size, even though Galaxy Tab 2 has got higher resolution. But, we would consider LG Optimus Pad over Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 considering the incredible 3D capabilities with Optimus Pad.

Camera:
The LG Optimus Pad has got 5MP rear facing camera featuring auto focus, LED flash light and brilliant resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels. Most importantly, it can capture 3D images and can record 3D videos. It also includes front facing 2MP camera which supports video calling.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 packs with 8MP rear facing camera with features of auto ficus and LED flash light. It has got higher resolution than Pad with 3264 x 2448 pixels.
So, which is better? Going for resolution thing, then Galaxy Tab 2 is much promising. But I would still consider Optimus Pad for its 3D capability.

Storage:
The LG Optimus comes with internal memory of 32GB and provides memory expansion of up to 32GB via microSD slot. While, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 comes with 3 variants – 16GB/32GB/64GB. It also comes with microSD card slot for expanding memory up to 32GB.
So, the Galaxy Tab 2 is more spacious than the counterpart.

Overall, both these tablets are best at their state of point. I would surely consider and will go for LG Optimus Pad and to try out some 3D experience. But, it is your personal choice which tablet to choose. Kindly leave your views and preference of selection between LG Optimus Pad and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. We would love to know your preferences.
